FAIL TO PREPARE, PREPARE TO FAIL....

I am thinking back to Sunday morning..... It was one of "those" mornings, I was rushing around like a crazy person trying to get ready and out the door as I was attending a workshop in London. Whilst getting my smoothie and lunch sorted like a whirling dervish I managed to smash a glass all over the kitchen and living room floor then proceeded to pour my smoothie into my thermal cup so vigorously that it overflowed everywhere....Cleared up and out the door...Made the train.....Got to lunch time......Doh! Where's my lunch.....By the front door. Yep, one of those days.
I am big on prepping so that we can enjoy a healthy, delicious, cheap lunch/snacks/dinner etc when we are out and about. It saves us from the temptation of fast foods and if you have any particular allergies or food preferences eg raw, wheat free, vegan, macrobiotic etc then it saves you from getting very hungry and ratty!

Here are my top 5 tips on planning yummy food

1.Get your fruit and veg chopped and in the fridge the night before ready for your green smoothie in the morning. No faffing just whizz and go!

2.Cook a big batch of brown rice, millet or quinoa and a load of roasted veg then you have a healthy base for lunch or dinners just keep in the fridge and mix with some fresh herbs n veggies, seeds, dressing and sprouts for an extra raw enzyme boost!

3.Cook up a cauldron of your favourite veggie/lentil/bean soup and freeze in portions. Just get it out in the morn if you think you are going to need a quick, nutritious lunch or dinner. Remember to label!

4.It may sound dull but just try it for a couple of weeks...Decide what you are going to have for lunches and dinners throughout the week and shop accordingly. It will save you money too. It doesn't have to be boring as it means that you can actually try out new recipes and have all the right ingredients! I was completely caught short this week as I decided to take part in the Green Smoothie Challenge but had not shopped for it. This meant that although I did take part my smoothies were rather "samey", still delicious though ;-)

5. Make up enough little snack pots or baggies to see you through the week. You can do mixtures of dried fruit and coconut, nuts, seeds, kale chips, oatcakes, raw cookies, energy balls, packets of miso....Get creative! Then just grab one and chuck in your handbag before you leave the house, that way you will never be caught hankering after a manky looking pasty or packet of biscuits in the petrol station!

I would love to hear what you do to stay on top of your healthy lifestyle when all else around you is going crazy (or eating junk!)!!  Keep me posted and have a great Easter weekend....XXX

7 Day Green Smoothie Challenge!

Evening peeps, I have embarked upon this fun challenge along with many other bloggers inspired by www.keepinghealthygettingstylish.com. I have really been enjoying my green smoothies a lot more since my detox and am looking forward to trying different ones. I am just making it up as I go along but will definitely be trying some of Laura's recipes once I get to the shops! So here are my first 2 days...

Monday: Kale, half banana, half pink grapefruit, hemp seeds and cashews, ice, flaxoil, phospholec lecithin granules, milk thistle and a spoon of Green Magic powder.

This was tangy, delicious and kept me going through my hour and half yoga sesh and I took the rest with me in my thermal cup and finished the rest off after, kept me happy till a late lunch. I often make a large amount and have half for brekkie and take the rest with me to work in flask or thermal cup to have around 4ish when I need something to keep me going until dinner.

Tuesday: Broccoli, spinach, frozen berries, half a banana, water, Pulsin' pea protein powder ( as I was going for a run), macca, flax oil, phospholec lecithin  granules, milk thistle and a spoon of Green Magic powder.

As you can see this one didn't turn out green, mine often don't! But it had a lot of green in it :-) Green smoothies are such a fantastic start to the day packing in a variety of healthy vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fibre. They are a wonderful way to get your "superfoods", extra supplements or herbs, EFA's and a bit of added protein if needed. They are a brilliant way to get some healthy greens into your kids or anyone who isn't generally a fan!

I will continue throughout the week and update you next week.  I would love to hear from any of you who are enjoying their green smoothies at the moment and any fave recipes....

Till next time...Enjoy the sunshine :-)

HAPPY SPRING EQUINOX!!

Spring has sprung, fantastic and what a beautiful day for it too!!

I am enjoying a Spring cleanse and am going to share some more tips on how to help your body rid itself of excess toxicity so that you can truly spring into action and forge ahead with all those well made plans, ideas, dreams and goals....
  • The food we have more or less covered in my last post so what I will say is keep it fresh, keep it as organic as possible and introduce lots of delicious soups, smoothies and juices.....Loadsa Veg!! The greener the more cleansing but beware....When the body cleanses it has to get out so make sure you are very regular in the "poo department" before you start going crazy on green juices and smoothies.
  • Make sure you are drinking your 2 litres a day of clean, filtered water to keep everything moving and help the liver cleanse.
  •  Body brushing is brilliant for helping to boost circulation and get lymph moving . This will help expel toxins and get rid of dead skin cells allowing the skin to breathe. Always brush upwards towards the heart and on dry skin.
  • Hot and cold showering. Basically have your lovely warm shower then turn to cold, scream for 30 secs then back to hot/warm. Do this 3 times ending on cold. Gets the circulation and lymph rushing around your body, is very invigorating and gives anybody living with you a good giggle.
  • Soaked linseeds. Soak a tablespoon of linseeds overnight in a little water and knock them back first thing. Do this morning and evening. They turn into a mucilaginous gloop and act as a broom through your bowels helping to keep you regular and flush out any rubbish that may have been dislodged through cleansing. Be sure to drink plenty of water straight after and throughout the day.
  • Massage can help to stimulate the detoxification process and get lymph moving. It is of course also very relaxing :-) It is very important to drink plenty of water afterwards to help flush out the toxicity that has been moved and help prevent detox headaches.
  • Yoga, stretching, walking in the woods or somewhere of natural beauty. Again gets the lymph moving and helps us to create endorphins, the feel good hormones. Deep breathing is a great way to help shift toxicity and calm the mind whether  in the woods or on your yoga mat.
  • Meditation, time out, relaxation....This is so important when detoxing as the body is working extra hard to shift all the old rubbish along with the usual daily onslaught. Take some time to your self to rejuvenate. Make plans and get excited about them. Soak in a huge bubble bath (using natural bath products of course!), Read a book you have been coveting....Just be sure to nurture yourself and do something you enjoy.....
There are many other techniques that can be used to help the body cleanse such as herbs, castor oil packing and enemas but I just wanted to give you something you can do easily, straight away and enjoy....Happy Spring!!

SPRING CLEAN......

Hello lovely people I hope you have been outside enjoying some of the Spring sunshine.

I am writing about detoxing today as it is Spring Equinox on Tuesday 20th March and this sees us heading into Spring properly. With lighter evenings, buds on the trees, flowers popping up and new births this really is a time of great energy, growth and renewal. What better time for a Spring Clean!

Cleansing, fasting, detoxing…..This is not a new concept and is something that has always been used to promote healing and bring clarity of mind. In today’s world it is something that can be of use to us all as even though our bodies have a wonderful cleansing mechanism it can become overwhelmed as we were never really designed to deal with today’s toxicity. The food we eat has been grown in nutrient depleted soil, sprayed with pesticides and herbicides, sometimes irradiated and often flown half way round the world before it gets to us. Chemicals we use to clean our homes and our bodies. Electronic smog. Additives, preservatives, flavourings, colourings and sweeteners in our food and drink….The list goes on and on….. This however is not all doom and gloom but empowering as with this in mind we can decide how to help our body get rid of the extra toxicity.

I am not talking going cold turkey and fasting completely on air. I am talking lets just give our liver some lovin’ and help it deal with this extra load.

So cutting down (or out) caffeine, sugar, salt, artificial and processed foods/drinks, alcohol, smoking, wheat, meat, dairy will really help lighten the load for your liver. Do this gradually and be aware of some detox symptoms such as headaches rashes, irritability or tiredness. Try not to take any medicines though as the body is cleansing and you do not want to push the toxicity (rubbish, acidity, crap) back in. Obviously If symptoms persist and you feel very poorly then see your doctor.

Increase fresh, filtered water consumption, fruits, veggies, sprouts, nuts, seeds and pulses. This will nourish your body and help it to cleanse.

There are many more things that can help and I will be writing more over the week as I partake in a lovely Spring Cleanse myself.

Now chuck that crappy, dead processed food away and get to the shops......Give it a go....Just for a week......I would love to know how you get on so please keep me posted :-)

27/02/12 MY TOP 5 FAVOURITE THINGS ABOUT MY WEEKEND...

It can be soooo easy to think about the crappy things in life and not really give enough notice to the good stuff so here I am basking in the glow of how great life can be sometimes... Something for me to read back over when I am having one of "those" days :-)

1. Friday night dinner with family and friends….A delicious feast of vegan curries and raw chocolate cheesecake (recipe will be on new website...coming soon!). Yum.

2. A beautiful run in the woods and sunshine, hard work but worth it!

3. My Saturday night dinner of chips and a beer with a girly film and my moggy for company…. (husby at a party)

4. My lie in bed on Sunday morn working on my laptop with window open and sun shining through….Oh yeah baby…

5. A big walk across Sarratts rolling hills in the afternoon sunshine with my beautiful friend Bex and a cheeky half a Guinness at the pub after whilst putting the world to rights.

These are just a few of my favourite things along with a great yoga session, snuggling up in front of the fire Sunday eve with husby watching a trashy movie and my wonderful drive through the lanes with The Doors blasting out but my top 8 things doesn’t sound so great!

What were your favourite things about your weekend?? Try making a list just to give yourself a smile :-)

What a gorgeous weekend, loving that sunshine, spurring me on to Spring when I do my Detox workshop – 14th March. 19.30 – 21.30….More info to follow…. for all those interested contact me!

16/02/12 RUNNIN' ROLLIN' YOGA

I am lovin today!!

I have been for a wonderful run in the woods which was easier and far more enjoyable than I thought after a break due to sore leg, snow and ice (and maybe a touch of laziness!!). Did 25 mins of yoga for runners which was hard but I am sure very good for me ;-) after discovering a place I can download free or paid for yoga workouts www.yogadownload.com, brilliant! And I have just finished a delicious sushi style wrap....see photo and recipe for those looking for something, quick, easy, delicious and very nutritious!!

So chop up your veg that you would like in your sushi/nori roll...I chose red pepper, cucumber, red chili, little gem and spring onion. Mix together some cooked brown rice and  chickpeas - I actually warmed this through in some coconut oil, garlic, tamari, chili and lemon juice...Yum.

Place your nori sheet shiny side down and layer your ingredients across widthwise. Drizzle with tahini and spread tahini along the edge so that it will stick when rolled up. Roll and squish as you go. I do not offer fantastic details on how to make the perfect nori roll here so you may want to Google or just look at the back of the Sushi Nori packet (which you can buy in all good health food shops and sometimes Waitrose!).

I say get stuck in, experiment and enjoy!! This is a wonderfully nutritious lunch/snack/dinner as the tahini, chickpeas and nori will provide calcium, magnesium and iron along with healthy protein. The fresh veg...Well, we all know how good that is for us so get rolling!!

20/01/12 MY SECRET LOVE AFFAIR.....WITH LINSEED TEA!

Happy Merry New Year Everyone!!!

So the last couple of weeks have been very stressful for me, sometimes that's life, but I have a renewed love for linseed tea. It has seen me through the last couple of weeks keeping me calm when I could have lost the plot and keeping me hydrated when I could have shrivelled up due to stress being so dehydrating!

Linseed tea is made in 2 different ways, the long and the short...

Long way.... 2 tablespoons of organic linseeds ( also known as flaxseeds) in a pan of filtered water, bring to the boil, turn off and leave to stand over night (or 8-12 hours). Bring back to the boil and simmer for an hour, sieve the seeds (if you want) and the remaining gloopy mixture can be kept in the fridge for upto 3 days. When you fancy a comforting warm drink put some of the mixture in a mug and add boiled water to your desired consistency.

Short way....Add 2 tablespoons of linseeds to a flask and add boiled water. Lid on and leave for aprox 12 hours. So do this at bedtime and you have a flask of wonderfully hydrating tea to carry around with you the next day. I sometimes drink it seeds and all, great for keeping bowels regular! Add ginger, honey or lemon if you want more flavour.

Linseed tea brings hydration as it has a mucilaginous (gloopy!) quality which helps it cling to the sides of the bowel bringing the message of hydration and helping water to be absorbed more easily. Linseeds are also packed full of Essential Fatty Acids omega 3 and 6. We need more omega 3 in our diet and although linseed tea does not contain it in large amounts it is a good way of introducing it to the body.

So, next time you know you have a stressful day looming get the linseeds out as stress causes dehydration and dehydration causes stress! Enjoy!

31/12/11 DAMAGE LIMITATION

Ok lovely people, so it is upon us....New Years Eve!!!!

How do you want to welcome 2012? Probably not feeling too sorry for yourself so here are a few ideas for damage limitation ahead of the celebrations....

Water!! You knew I would say that but water is the most important ingrediant as it will help your body to function more effectively and your liver to process toxins so get drinking! Make sure you drink a lot today ahead of the party, during and most definately after. Remember...The solution to pollution is dilution!

Vitamin C. Make yourself a delicious smoothy or juice packed with free radical busting antioxidant vit C and liver cleansing beetroot. You could also take 1000 mgs vit C before you go out and when you get in to give your body a helping hand.

Milk Thistle. A wonderful herb that helps the liver detoxification process. I find tincture works best, take 2 mls in a little water (or added to smoothy/juice) twice a day- today and tomorrow if drinking alcohol.

Food! Make sure you have a healthy, nutritious meal before you go out. Something that contains protein and slow release carbs such as chickpeas, beans, brown rice, quinoa, nut burgers and lots of antioxidant boosting fresh vegetables. You do not want to be eating stodgy, dry, processed food that your body has to use a lot of water to digest so steer clear of bread, cheese, greasy/processed/ red meat, white pasta or any fast food. No chips n burger on the way to the pub!

If you do feel a little fragile the next day and you have a headache try and steer clear of the pills. These will overload your already overwhelmed liver and give it more to do. Simple hydrotherapy can work wonders for headaches so soak a clean tea towel in cold water, wring out and wrap around your neck. The energy will be diverted from your head down to your neck as your body heat will warm it up. Keep refreshing it as it warms up. Paddling in very cold water in the bath can also help. This also works well for "Busy Brain" insomnia. Give it a go!

Most importantly....Have fun!! Laugh, cry, woop, squeal and enjoy the love and warmth of those around you... 20102...Here we come!!!

28/12/11 SMOOTH OPERATOR

So Christmas is done and New Years Eve is looming up ahead followed by 2012 and all those fabulous New Years Resolutions..... Time to talk Smoothies me thinks!!

The perfect choice for if you are feeling a little too full of Christmas food/booze/cheer and stuck to the sofa. Get up and get creative in the kitchen!! They are easy on the digestive system and packed with live enzymes, vitamins, minerals, fibre and you can add your omega 3 oils and superfoods....Most importantly they are hydrating and taste delish!!

So grab your blender and throw in some berries (frozen is fine), banana and experiment....add mango, pineapple, kiwis, pears and always add a handful of something green such as spinach, little gem lettuce, kale, cucumber, romaine lettuce. This helps to keep the sugar content down and adds a healthy dose of chlorophyll along with potassium, magnesium and lots of vitamin C. For some added protein, zinc, calcium and healthy fats add a sprinkle of soaked nuts and seeds, this makes it creamier too, yum. Remember to add some filtered water to the consistency that you desire. Your body will love you ;-)

Once you have really got into it then start adding your favourite superfoods and other bits and bobs.... Macca or suma to help balance hormones and give energy; bee pollen for added protein and a variety of vits including B vits, milk thistle for an overwhelmed liver, flax oil for omega 3s, lecithin granules to help emulsify the oils, cinanmon to help balance blood sugar or a big sprinkle of raw cacao powder - a highly nutritious and delicious superfood that will give you a chocolatey boost!

The list is endless.....Just get whizzing, experiment and enjoy!! I would love to hear your favourite smoothy recipes....

20/12/11 MORE "TOOLS"

Ok so here we are with more "tools"  to keep you healthy and happy over Christmas, Boxing day and New Years Eve...

Vitamin C- The master antioxidant! Vital for gobbling up those pesky free radicals that occur during times of stress, when we smoke and when we consume stimulants such as refined sugars and alcohol....Yep, all those Christmas excesses! All of these also turn off our immune system which is imperative for keeping those sniffles at bay.

Viatmin C is found in all fresh fruit and veg  but especially acerola cherries, cantaloupe melon, kiwi, citrus fruits, berries, sweet potatoes, peppers and dark green leafy veg. Be aware that vitamin C is easily destroyed in cooking so be sure to have some  (preferably organic) fresh, raw fruit and veg every day. Incorporating a fresh smoothy, juice or salad into your daily diet will give your immune system a much appreciated boost.

If you want to really make sure that you are getting optimum levels of vitamin C over the winter then a good quality supplement is ideal.1000 mgs per day will be ample to keep you going over the winter. Be sure to check for fillers and make sure that it is bioavailable -  in a form that your body can easily use. Remember, you get what you pay for so in the case of supplements it is best to buy from a reputable company who specialise in supplements, nothing too cheap! I use Cytoplan, a great supplement company with 100% charitable status. If you would like to try them too then go to the links page on my website.....

So remeber boys and girls.... Go crazy on the stasumas in your stocking ;-)

19/12/11 "TOOLS" FOR YOUR "TOOLBOX"

So we are in the throws of the festive season and feeling full of Christmas cheer and merriment (hopefully!). To look after ourselves and our precious bodies over this season I will be offering "tools" for your "toolbox"  that you can dip in and out of to stay healthy, happy and full of Goodwill!

Number 1..... Water!!
  • Water is the best thing for any sort of overindulgence.
  • It will help digest stodgy and "challenging" foods such as mince pies, sausage rolls, crisps and  party food keeping your bowels regular and healthy.
  • It will help to turn off "dehydration alert" brought on by stress and stimulating foods and drinks such as coffee, acohol and chocolate.
  • Most of all it will help your amazing liver to process toxins more efficiently so remember to drink more water if you have gone a little overboard on the mulled wine and Christmas pud!
  • Drink aound 2 litres a day to keep hydrated and try to keep it away from food so that you do not dilute the digestive enzymes...They are going to need all the help they can get!
  • If in doubt always remember.... The Solution to Pollution is Dillution!!

2/12/11 WINTER IS UPON US......

So here we are , winter is well and truly upon us! Darker days, frosty mornings and everyone going nuts about Crimbo…… Yes it is in full swing ;-)

So we need to be looking at how to protect ourselves during this hectic time. In the winter our bodies want to naturally hibernate. If we go back in time we would see that after dark we were not out and about working, socialising, going to the gym or eating big heavy meals….It was too dark! We would be snuggled up by a fire, keeping warm and sleeping. Our work for the day was done. Well, not so in today’s world. We run 24/7 365 days of the year and we expect our bodies to keep up.

This is outside of natural laws and stressful for our bodies but since life is not going to stop we need to support ourselves the best we can.

For optimum wellness is it advisable to stick to natures laws as closely as possible, so in the winter this means:
  • Getting all our work and running around done during daylight hours as much as is feasible.
  • Having our main meal at lunchtime or at least during daylight hours so that it is easier to digest.
  • More sleep and time spent contemplating the past year; lessons we have learned, what we want to take forward into the new year and what we want to leave behind.
  • Wrap up warm and get outside for half an hour a day to stock up on vitamin D and fresh air.
  • Eating more warming, seasonal foods such as soups and stews made with root vegetables, pulses and spices.
This is a time to just take a step back and really nurture ourselves and loved ones.
Over the coming weeks I will be looking at ways to keep us sane and healthy over winter so that we can really enjoy all that it has to offer!

19/10/11 SHEPHERDESS PIE

So, I have people asking for ideas for vegan, healthy, easy dinners quite a lot so as I was cooking my dinner I thought I would take some photos and write it all down as it is top scran!!

We call this Shepherdess Pie and I normally make the topping with a mix of sweet potato and normal potato but only had Maris Pipers today, still delish...

For the topping .....Potatoes and sweet potatoes, olive oil, wholegrain mustard, splash of oat/rice milk , seasoning.

For the filling......Courgettes, leeks, mushrooms, carrots, red pepper, garlic, tinnned lentils (can use dried), beans (butter, black eye, cannellini, whatever you like), chopped toms, tsp Boullion powder, herbs ( I used fresh bay and rosemary from garden),paprika, tsp miso paste and a sprinkle of nutritional yeast flakes stirred in at the end. Drop of red wine or a sprinkle of chili for an extra tasteywinter warmer!

Lightly fry veg and garlic until starting to get soft then add beans, lentils and chop toms and herbs. Simmer for ten mins. Meanwhile boil potatoes and mash with wholegrain mustard, olive oil, splash milk and seasoning. When ready put filling in a large oven dish and top with mash. Cook for 40 mins on 200 c. Serve up with lightly steamed vegetables and enjoy!!

I make a large one and then put into tupperwares and freeze for quick, healthy, yummy dinners and lunches. Unless my husband sees it first then there isn't normally much left ;-)

06/10/11 Poorlypops

Ok so today I take my own advice! Just stop.

I havn't been feeling quite right on and off for the past couple of weeks, since I did my detox. That is not unusual as the body has shifted a lot of toxic crap (hopefully!) that has been building up over the years  and it can take a while for it to exit and leave you feeling a bit......odd, emotional etc, like stuff has been shifted I guess. I have had days when I feel fantastic and great then days when I am tired and irritable, classic acid/alkaline imbalance stuff. now I look at it, classic over doing everything stuff too!

So my body has been cleansing and going, woooo yeah gonna get rid of this toxic rubbish, the weather's been nice and warm so lymph is flowing nicely and gettin the toxins out and then the weather changes, lymph gets thicker and harder to expel the rubbish and boom! You feel like shit. Stuffs been moved around and now isn't on its journey out anymore and is getting stuck in thickened lymph leaving you feeling heavy and toxic. Or if you are me heavy, achy, teary, exhausted....everyone has their own way.

This is also my body's way of telling me to stop as sometimes....although I am getting better....I don't listen as well as I should.... I know I know, bloody silly. I get all excited and take on loads of stuff then forget that life still needs to happen and forget there are only 24 hours in a day, woops. I see people do this a lot, we seem to find it hard to say no for one reason or another. So this is where listening to your body ( or your husband and best friend!) can pay dividends, so you don't end up overly overexerted and a bit of a mess for a day, or more! So today, I have had a good cry, got over the fact that I am NOT gonna get much productive done and am still in my pyjamas. I will be doing some great naturopathic techniques to help stuff along but for today I am just gonna rest.

Sometimes you just need to stop. XXX

3/10/11 SOMERSET, COLLEGE, FRIENDS AND SACRED WELLS....

I have had a brillliant past few days....bloody busy but brilliant :-)

Met with my friend who runs her own nlp life coaching business www.shevolution-life-coaching.co.uk to get focussed and go through some goals for the near future. She is very intuitive and really gets you to search deep inside and pull out what you want to achieve, even if it is scary or daunting. I find working with someone else helps with finding more creative ways around things and gets the juices flowing!

The rest of the wekend was spent in Wells, Somerset on a training course as I am going back to college to help out as a support tutor. What a fantastic bunch of people, so inspiring and so much fun to be around and bounce ideas off like-minded folk. The raw chocolate yummies were a definate added bonus, can't wait to get experimenting myself.

There was a lot of talk of being true to yourself and finding your own happy, healthy balance. This is something that I have struggled with on and off for quite some time and can confidently say that I feel I have found my own balance. I am confident in the fact that I am a good person, I feel healthy and happy, I still enjoy wine ;-) and the more authentic I am to myself the more everyone will benefit...... The ripple effect..... Ask yourself the question, how authentic to yourself are you living?  What/who are you trying to be and why? Surely the more honest you are with yourself the more energy you will have to actually enjoy yourself. Imagine how free you can feel, how light..... Surely this will only benefit those you love and care about. Be the shining example.....XXX

28/09/11 SUNSHINE AND WOODS......

So I just got back from a beautiful run in the woods and I am feeling much happier!!

I was still feeling a bit toxic, like not all the crap that had been dislodged during detox had actually left the buliding, better now! Sometimes a good bit of getting sweaty and out of breath (!) is the only thing that works. That and being outside, what a gorgeous day :-). Just whizzed up a yummy smoothy with berries, carrots, beetroot, ginger, little gem and half a banana along with some superduper Maca, lecithin and flaxoil. That should see me through till a late lunch.

Enjoy our mini heatwave everyone!

25/09/11 AUTUMN EQUINOX, DETOX AND OTHER STUFF...

Hello lovely people, thank you for reading my blog. I am a 33 year old woman living in Watford with my husband and cat- Roly Poly. As a natural nutritionist this blog will be about food, drink, health, life, nature, the outdoors, healing and happiness….. A few of my favourite things. Enjoy and feel free to join in!

So that was my first hot dinner since Wednesday (it is Sun night) and it is amazing how delicious a baked potato and steamed broccoli, carrots and green beans can be! This has been a great Autumn detox and I am left feeling calm, confident (a bit tired) and sure that I will have the energy and tenacity to forge ahead with plans this winter. How exciting!
So I started unexpectedly on Thurs eve when I decided that I wasn’t hungry so decided just to have a pear for dinner. How great, not hungry for dinner! I then ended up doing 26 hours on 2 pears and a handful of soaked cashews so was very pleased as it was a great start to my Equinox detox ;-) I didn’t actually feel hungry, think this was because I was rather busy too. All good though, harvesting the creations of my hard work over the summer and getting things finished off ready for the hibernating winter months ahead.
Saturday morning found me feeling rather emotional and I had a little cry, felt much better afterwards, good to get these things out especially as detoxing can really shift stuff, which is the point after all! Was a bit weird and floaty/weak that morning but perked up in the afternoon after a superduper carrot, beetroot, apple and ginger juice which I shared with a friend who had come to help me with some DIY in the garden. I know, I know, not really the ideal time to be doing DIY but it was part of getting things finished and it was a lovely time spent together. That eve I was feeling headachy again so did another liver pack which helped move the toxicity on.
Today I have been feeling great… and hungry so have just had my delicious, yet plain, dinner. Spent some time gardening today, caught up with friends and family and had a small walk in the woods, lovely. I will be doing another liver pack tonight and a flush in the morning to make sure that all the hard work my body has done getting rid of some of my toxic crap will actually be exited from the body!
Watch out Autumn….. Here I come! X
