Ok so here we are with more "tools" to keep you healthy and happy over Christmas, Boxing day and New Years Eve...
Vitamin
C- The master antioxidant! Vital for gobbling up those pesky free
radicals that occur during times of stress, when we smoke and when we
consume stimulants such as refined sugars and alcohol....Yep, all those
Christmas excesses! All of these also turn off our immune system which
is imperative for keeping those sniffles at bay.
Viatmin C is
found in all fresh fruit and veg but especially acerola cherries,
cantaloupe melon, kiwi, citrus fruits, berries, sweet potatoes, peppers
and dark green leafy veg. Be aware that vitamin C is easily destroyed in
cooking so be sure to have some (preferably organic) fresh, raw fruit
and veg every day. Incorporating a fresh smoothy, juice or salad into
your daily diet will give your immune system a much appreciated boost.
If
you want to really make sure that you are getting optimum levels of
vitamin C over the winter then a good quality supplement is ideal.1000
mgs per day will be ample to keep you going over the winter. Be sure to
check for fillers and make sure that it is bioavailable - in a form
that your body can easily use. Remember, you get what you pay for so in
the case of supplements it is best to buy from a reputable company who
